Josh Elmore is an entrepreneur who’s fitness carrier seed was planted back in his freshman year of high school.
While living in Baltimore MD, mid 2007, Josh left a budding sales career to pursue a pro grappling and MMA carrier. His first fight was booked for November 2007. In October 2007 during a routine training session he suffered a break in his neck which effectively ended his career before it really started. “It took me about 6 months to really realize that I was now done with this life and dream I had worked so hard for. The experience stretched me further than I could have imagined.”
It was during this time that Josh was offered a job as a personal trainer in Charlotte N.C. at a small personal training franchise Fitness Together. “FT unlocked a love inside of me that had been growing since High School, changing peoples lives through fitness.”
It took Josh less than 6 weeks to realize something huge was missing in his skill set to be a successful trainer. “March 2nd, 2008. I’ll always remember that date. I was hunting around online to see what the cast of “300” did to get so jacked for the movie and I came across CrossFit. I saw a small woman whoop up on a guy in a workout (5 rnds: 7 Pull-ups, 7 Thrusters (75#), 7 Burpees). I had about an hour before my next client so I decided to try it out. 15 or so minutes later, lying on my back gasping for air, I knew I found what was missing.”
Josh would quickly make a name for himself in the personal training industry being named the “Best of the Best Personal Trainer in Charlotte” and being the top trainer at one of the top franchises in the FT model. He would also get a personal endorsement from Team USA weightlifting coach Glenn Pendlay during this time.
In 2010 he would leave personal training and move onto to small business owner with opening CrossFit Eternal. “We started in my 400 sq/ft garage and I think we were still the most expensive CrossFit in town at that point. I think I’ll always unapologetically strive to be the best in the world at what I do, even if I have to start in my own garage.”
During his 5 years building CrossFit Eternal he underwent 3 expansions, had over 200 members, bought and turned around a failing affiliate, personally coached 3 Reebok CrossFit Games athletes, was entrusted with major leadership roles at the Reebok CrossFit Southeast Regionals and the Reebok CrossFit Games themselves, traveled around the U.S. as a head coach with Athlete Cell and Faith Rx’D, and coached athletes in 4 different countries.
Finally after my son was born January 10th 2014 and almost losing both him and my beloved wife during the birth my passion became ‘I want to be the best husband and father in the world.’” July of 2014 Josh sold both his CrossFit Eternal locations and stopped procurement of his third.
Josh, is now pursuing a fitness consulting business and has found himself in the perfect stage of life where he can support and spend time with his family all while pursuing passion.

Jason Tuttle, Principal, Nova Capital Partners
While Eric currently maintains a full time Marketing Leadership position within the Infrastructure and Defense Division of Qorvo, Inc (QRVO) this does not overshadow his personal passions. “Wellness has such an impact over how we feel about ourselves, our relationships with others, and our connection to our creator.”
Since receiving his L1 Crossfit Certification in 2008, Eric has worked with several personal clients and on staff for five years at Ultimate Crossfit in Charlotte, NC. He feels he has a heart and a gift for bringing fitness to others with particular emphasis on the severely deconditioned. “It’s great to watch exceptional athletes do exceptions things but to see someone’s life completely changed by completing their first pull up, mile run, or just getting out of a chair without assistance inspires me so much more.”
Eric’s other great passion is his family. He currently attends Forest Hill Church and resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife Shannon and Daughter Sydney.
